The Mechanical Designer will have the opportunity to:
Provide design and drafting support for Mechanical Engineers and Senior Mechanical Designers
Convert system design concepts into specific layouts, utilizing information outlined by senior team members
Assist in the preparation of mechanical designs, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, mechanical construction documents, the development of design solutions, and details for all phases of a project
Work closely with team members to complete design and construction documents
Perform construction administration duties including submittal and shop drawing review
Work location: Gainesville, FL office. Future work location flexible (North Central Florida).
Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology or commensurate years of experience. BSME from an ABET accredited school desirable
Proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and BIM concepts
Proficiency in use of HVAC load calculation programs: HAP or Trane Trace
Ability to interpret design criteria and convert it into specific layouts
Quick technical comprehension and motivation focused on client outcomes
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Availability to travel and possession of a valid driver's license
Experience in the use/application of building codes and published design standards
Familiarity with various mechanical equipment manufacturer's product lines
