Job AdGainesville Regional Utilities (GRU) is seeking an experienced Training Manager to join our dynamic Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) training team.The ideal incumbent will concentrate on focus areas to include; responsibility for assessing, developing and delivering all facets of ERP training; developing training curriculum, including course-level objectives, outlines, and content; partnering with functional area SME's to assess training needs; developing training schedules; coordinating training enrollment, and reviewing training material; conducting and coordinating ERP "train-the-trainer" efforts to prepare instructors for training delivery.To qualify for this position you must possess: a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with four (4) years progressively responsible experience in business or utility employee training, which includes experience in technical training, program design and delivery or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience with enterprise resource planning systems is preferred. Or – an Associate's degree and six (6) years, training and experience which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities.Training experience with enterprise resource planning systems is preferred.Certification as a Certified Learning Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLC) or Certified Change Management Professional from the Association of Change Management Professionals or from Prosci Change Management is preferred.NOTE:

May be required to extended work hours or attend meetings outside regular business hours and normal working location.

May be required to travel to educational conferences and seminars outside of the normal working location.

May establish an eligibility list. May fill multiple positions.

Job DescriptionSUMMARYThis is advanced professional and technical work involving developing and delivering training programs to meet the standards and requirements of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Positions allocated to this class report to a designated supervisor and work under moderate direction.Work in this class is distinguished from lower classes by its professional and technical responsibilities, program management leadership, the use of independent judgment, exercise of initiative and professional knowledge in the design and development of ERP system training programs.EXAMPLES OF WORKThis section of the job description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of duties and responsibilities of the position. Performance of lower level duties may be required.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSManages the assessment, planning, development, implementation, and administration of Enterprise Resource Planning training needs for GRU's ERP programs, including change management for the ERP function.Develops training curriculum, including course-level objectives, outlines, and content.Designs and develops training materials that combine system, process, and policies with exercises/practices to ensure effective learning.Partners with business and functional area SME's to assess training needs, training logistic requirements, develop training schedule, coordinate training enrollment, and review training material.Tests ERP training materials and conducts and/or coordinates train-the-trainer efforts to prepare instructors for training delivery.Ensures ERP education and training are continuously reviewed and updated.Identifies meaningful ways to measure the effectiveness of various ERP training solutions.Coordinates evaluation of proposals, external consultants and trainers with other departments and agenciesAttends work on a continuous and regular basis.NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSServes on committees and task forces involved in solving system training problems.May act in absence of supervisor.Performs other related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Below are the required education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with four (4) years progressively responsible experience in business or utility employee training, which includes experience in technical training, program design and delivery or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience with enterprise resource planning systems is preferred. Associate's degree and six (6) years, training and experience which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Training experience with enterprise resource planning systems is preferred.CERTIFICATIONS OR LICENSESLicensesValid Florida Driver License required.CertificationsCertification as a Certified Learning Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLC) or Certified Change Management Professional from the Association of Change Management Professionals or from Prosci Change Management is preferred.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESKnowledge of learning theories, methods, & principles.Ability to plan, prepare & deliver training programs.Knowledge of training planning and delivery principles.Knowledge of basic statistical methods.A passion for continuous learning.Strong communication skills.Knowledge of adult learning theories.Ability to effectively use presentation software & other training tools.Ensuring training is meeting business needs.Evaluation of training delivery by source.Contract with outside vendor to deliver training organization-wide.Identifies training opportunities for GRU from the Enterprise perspective (training for enterprise systems for all).Knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems.Knowledge of change management principles and methodologies.Ability to effectively use presentation software and other training tools and materials to create and deliver high-quality training programs.Knowledge of and ability to operate and effectively use various forms of training technology.Through knowledge of principles, practices, methods and theories of training.Ability to manage or lead project teams, or work as a member of a self directed work team.Knowledge of adult learning theory and of training and development principles, practices and methods.Knowledge of basic statistical methods.Ability to plan, prepare and deliver effective training programs that produce measurable results for the organization.Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must possess certain physical abilities and be able to withstand work related environmental conditions.
