JOB FAMILY DESCRIPTION

Performs activities related to the operation, maintenance and testing of electrical, mechanical, cooling, fire protection and emergency back-up systems supporting Data Center environments to ensure maximum efficiency, effectiveness, and safety of infrastructure systems.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Serves as Senior Engineering Manager for mission critical Data Center environment.

  • Oversees the operation of mission critical Data Center infrastructure including critical electrical, mechanical, cooling, fire protection, and emergency systems.

  • Plans and implements routine preventative maintenance and testing of critical systems equipment for operation, safety and efficiency.

  • Monitors space, power, and cooling utilization, and performs Data Center facilities capacity and space planning for Critical Facilities Infrastructure capacity planning and executive reporting.

  • Oversees work performed by external service providers and ensures that all work is performed within Black Knight Financial Services policies and procedures.

  • Maintains and executes business continuity/disaster recovery plans as required.

  • High level interaction and compliance with governance/auditing requirements.

  • Forecasts, develops, maintains, and analyze Critical Facilities budgets.

  • Evaluates vendor goods and/or services, and negotiates cost and terms to align within budget and compliance with vendor risk management requirements

  • Performs ongoing assessments of Data Center facilities and infrastructure to identify potential vulnerabilities and hardening opportunities.

  • Develops Critical Facilities Engineering project plans and specifications, including detailed cost estimates for design, equipment procurement, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs.

  • Develops Critical Facilities Engineering project business cases and presents business cases before Capital Committee.

  • Provides on call 7 x 24 x 365 support of critical infrastructure.

  • Prepares and maintains technical manuals, reports, equipment inventory and operating procedures.

  • Performs other related duties as required.


EDUCATIONAL GUIDELINES

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline, work experience or equivalent combinations of education and training.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES



  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Must possess a valid state Driver's license.

  • Ability to react quickly and appropriately to operational exceptions such as Data Center equipment failures and emergency situations.

  • In depth knowledge of multiple infrastructure disciplines and trades.

  • Good understanding of IT equipment interfaces and dependencies.

  • Ensures compliance with NFPA, OSHA safety standards and all local building codes.

  • Ability to read and work from diagrams, sketches, operations manuals and manufacturer's specifications.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.

  • Requires solid problem solving skills.

  • Skilled use of Microsoft Office package and related software applications is required.

  • Team skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.


Systems Manager

Middle level management role. Typically responsible for managing one or more information systems functions for a specific user group/functional area (e.g., credit/debit card line of business, NYCE network) within a data center or for one or more lines of business. Resolves issues and contributes to business unit/area development. Directly responsible for managing a staff of four (4) or more direct reports, including supervisors and individual contributors in systems planning, design, implementation, organization, and/or operation. Manages twenty-five (25) or more overall subordinates. Works closely with senior management on departmental issues. Has wide latitude for decision-making. Typically requires six (6) or more years of related information systems experience with at least two (2) years of leadership responsibility. May also require five (5) or more years of experience managing high-visibility IT projects that include implementing project methodology and developing/communicating executive reports on multiple simultaneous projects requiring significant and diverse resources.

Prepares a timely final report of findings with recommendations for corrective actions. Ensure compliance with corporate policies as well as local, state and federal regulations. Develop standardization and best practices to safety processes, templates and practices. Review safety reports, corrective action requests, training, near misses, event reports, change of command forms etc.; and use technical expertise to provide feedback and/or suggest improvements. Interpret and evaluate the accumulation of data; and develop appropriate controls to mitigate hazards related to high risk operations.
