Qualifications

Responsibilities
  • Planning, organization, and implementation of technical projects
  • Coordinating production releases and rollouts, delegating tasks to the necessary employees, and presenting on projects' progress and results
  • Research and implement technological strategic solutions
  • Set project goals and coming up with plans to meet those goals, including determining and defining project scope and objectives
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Manage resources for projects, such as computer equipment and employees
  • Coordinate project team members and develop schedules and individual responsibilities
  • Implement IT strategies that deliver projects on schedule and within budget
  • Use project management tools to track project performance and schedule adherence

SUMMARY: Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining safety, health and/or environmental programs ensuring regulatory compliances, providing regulatory and technical support and training assistance at all levels within the organization. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Directs and/or coordinates the transportation safety management process and provides overall support and guidance to the regional and local transportation operations. Coordinate with corporate safety team and operations leadership in crafting and enforcing strategies in building a safety culture within the transportation operation. Introduce and oversees systems and activities to maintain oversight of regulatory compliance, provide training and professional development for management and Commercial Motor Vehicle operations. Conduct audits and inspections of equipment, drivers hours of service, locations, and overall field operations to ensure compliance with the safety and regulatory policies. Manage and/or participate in the investigation of incidents, identifying root causes, and assists in initial report preparation. Prepares a timely final report of findings with recommendations for corrective actions. Ensure compliance with corporate policies as well as local, state and federal regulations. Develop standardization and best practices to safety processes, templates and practices. Review safety reports, corrective action requests, training, near misses, event reports, change of command forms etc.; and use technical expertise to provide feedback and/or suggest improvements. Interpret and evaluate the accumulation of data; and develop appropriate controls to mitigate hazards related to high risk operations. Champion the safety culture, perform operational assessments to review the effectiveness and efficiency of safety and environmental practices and procedures. Identify safety-training requirements and facilitate development and implementation of safety training programs. EDUCATION: Bachelor\'s degree in occupational safety and health, marine engineering/transportation or related scientific or management discipline; or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education. EXPERIENCE: 5 years professional/managerial experience in safety, health and environmental management in transportation.Thorough understanding and knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Regulations as they pertain to the safe operation of a trucking operation. TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word. COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
