Position Overview: This position is responsible for maintaining organization WAN, LAN, Internet, and intranet systems ensuring security and integrity. Collaborates with Regional IT Coordinators and IT Management to create and implement best practices across the organization. Independently researches and resolves software and hardware problems. Performs day-to-day tasks and maintenance for the organization's servers and network. Serves as a technical training resource for regional IT coordinators and staff.
Role and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of network and voice infrastructure
Maintain and configure Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, VoIP, video, and security appliances and other products for access to vital business applications
Work with hardware/software vendors and service providers to maintain a stable and secure environment
Consult with IT Management to analyze technology needs and determine the scope and priorities of projects
Respond timely to requests from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies
Troubleshoot and resolve network hardware, software application, phone, and security system issues
Handle problem recognition, isolation, research, resolution, and follow-up for end-user problems
Log and track requests using IT ticketing system
Maintain inventory, records, and documentation
Troubleshoot and repair layer 1 cabling issues (copper/fiber)
Support a hybrid Active Directory and Office365 environment
Compile data to evaluate tools, systems, and programs to better the organizations technology platform
Conduct on-site and virtual trainings on the organization's technology, hardware, and software
Build and maintain working relationships with staff to understand program needs and communicate those needs to IT leadership
Any other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Required:
Bachelor's in Computer Information Systems, or related field
Minimum two years related experience required; preferably in a non-profit or educational environment
Cisco CCNA or equivalent certifications/experience
Knowledge of routing, switching, and wireless implementation and support
Knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications, VoIP, and video implementation and support
Desire and ability to learn and support new applications and technology
Strong understanding of OSI model
Strong troubleshooting methodology and high attention to detail
Current Florida driver's license
Ability to work with minimal supervision and effectively communicate progress
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to communicate in an understandable, polite, and friendly manner, both written and verbal
Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-task, multi-location, small business environment
Must be comfortable supporting a user base of 500+ staff and 3500+ students

Preferred:
Experience in supporting multiple locations
CompTIA A+, N+, Security+
Microsoft OS and Server certifications
Technical training experience
Strong customer service and interpersonal skillset
