I/S provides the information technology required for all Publix business units including retail stores and all office and warehouse environments. The Publix I/S mission is to maximize the value of information technology to Publix associates and customers.

The job responsibilities for this position are:

• plan and manage project efforts to define, implement, upgrade, enhance, and maintain network security and firewall management systems,


• provide technical support and firewall policy planning/development/deployment


• develop and document standards, processes, and procedures to enhance enterprise network segmentation


• define and develop network security compliance metrics for senior management


• participate in security and compliance audits and assessments of IT processes and procedures, applications, systems, and networks to ensure Publix is meeting all applicable legal, contractual, and regulatory requirements,


• anticipate and identify issues that conflict with security and compliance requirements; work with system owners, architects, and auditors to define and execute action plans to address root causes,


• foster and maintain working relationships with internal customers to provide technical solutions to business problems,


• serve as a hands-on technical expert working directly with delivery teams to provide guidance on security software and problem resolution,


• provide off hours or on-call support as needed.

The required qualifications for this position are:

• must have a bachelor s degree in management information systems, computer science, or equivalent analytical discipline, or equivalent experience,


• must have at least 4 years of IT Security or audit experience providing support to security systems such as firewalls or enterprise auditing of firewall policies for (SOX, HIPAA and/or PCI),


• must have excellent understanding of platform and network security technologies,


• must have good understanding of System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies

• advanced degree in computer science or equivalent analytical discipline, or equivalent experience,


• 5 years of enterprise firewall policy management experience with Checkpoint and/or Palo Alto firewalls,


• 2 years of experience with Publix,


• experience with Tufin,


• multiple certifications in security or engineering,


• experience with cloud/private cloud container, microsegmentation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC),


• security technologies is a huge plus.
