PRIMARY FUNCTION: The primary function of this Shop Foreman Position is to oversee the day to day operation of a single shop, and to make sure all polices are being followed in the SOP, and Shop Managers Hand Book. Also that semi trailer equipment is being repaired properly, and parts procurement, inventory and sales are managed in a prompt and safe manor.

DESCRIPTION: Shop Foreman Duties:

ïƒ Accomplishes shop targets by communicating job expectations, by planning, and monitoring job results.

ïƒ Coaches, counsels and disciples shop employees.

ïƒ Reviews, coordinates, and enforces maintenance policies as outlined in the SOP book.

ïƒ Maintains staff by interviewing, and selecting qualified mechanics for the proper T- class rating.

ïƒ Reviews mechanics skill level, and helps develop personal growth opportunities, so as to re-class mechanic with proper T- class rating.

ïƒ Must be able to evaluate times, and days of operation to form a schedule of shop hours and manpower to meet the needs of operations.

ïƒ Maintains work flow by communicating equipment status between the shop and operations and promoting a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.

ïƒ Preforms regular shop safety inspections, to make sure all safety procedures are being followed.

ïƒ Makes sure all environmental procedures are being followed.

ïƒ Monitors and preforms parts and tire inventory cycle counts.

ïƒ Reviews shop productivity, overtime, and shop P&L reports.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

ïƒ At least 2 years experience in the oversight and management of a single shop location.

ïƒ At least 2 years experience with parts inventory, procurement and sales Diesel parts a plus

ïƒ Must be able to understand a shop P&L

ïƒ Must have knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

ïƒ Must have knowledge of a maintenance tracking system, preferable TMT.

ïƒ Experience with AS400, ADP and CDK

ïƒ Must have good communication skills.

ïƒ Must have knowledge of trailer repairs and parts inventory, procurement and sales.

ïƒ Must have knowledge of component codes related to tractor and trailer repairs.

ïƒ Must have experience with MIG and TIG welding

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

ïƒ High school graduate

ïƒ Technical school, or on the job training.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

ïƒ Must be able to stand long periods of time.

ïƒ Must be able to squat, kneel and climb up and down several times a day.

Driver License Required:

ïƒ Must have current Florida driver license and good driving record. May be required to drive company vehicles.

Will be required to pass pre-employment drug test and physical and background screening.
