Job Title : Maintenance Technician II
Department: Engineering
Reports To: Assistant Director of Engineering
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Uphold and encourage the values and standards of Marriott and Howard Hospitality.
Respond and attend to guest repair requests.
Fix minor plumbing problems such as unclogging drains, plunging toilets, and repairing leaky spigots and faucets. Perform miscellaneous minor repairs such as tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and patching holes in walls.
Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
Maintain daily logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activities.
Communicate with guests/customers when necessary to resolve maintenance issues.
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; and complete safety training and certifications.
Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests` service needs, and assist individuals with disabilities.
Speak with others using clear and professional language.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladder.
Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight.
Perform daily water testing of the pools at the hotel and adjust chemicals to the appropriate levels.
Inform Chief of any supplies needed to do this.
Perform all duties involved with the cleaning of the pool area and pools themselves.
Such as operating the pumps and vacuum system. Inspect all pump area equipment and repair as needed.
Conduct daily walk thru of hotel and report any defects or vandalism to property, to include replacing any and all expired light bulbs.
Assist the Assistant Dir. Engineering and Tech lll in any function necessary to complete a task.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience or one year in the Tech l position.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid driver-s license required with at least three (3) years driving experience and must meet company-s driving requirements. Any required licensing as the job entails. Must posses a Certified Pool Operators Certificate or have the ability to get one. Have Basic electrical, HVAC, plumbing, sheetrock, carpentry skills.
Other Qualifications
Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays
Completion of background check and drug test is required.
