EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OPERATION HOMEBOUND

North Lake Presbyterian Church is seeking to hire an Executive Director for one of their primary ministries. The ministry prepares and delivers approximately 200 meals a day, five days a week, 52 weeks a year to homebound clients. The primary duty of this position is to oversee the business of Operation Homebound and to serve as the community liaison making presentations and attending functions that may provide support to the ministry. This would include maintaining visibility in the community, obtaining grants and other forms of support, and keeping the congregation informed about Operation Homebound. The people that accomplish this service include a small paid staff and a large volunteer group of kitchen assistants and drivers who deliver the meals.

North Lake Presbyterian Church is an evangelical Presbyterian church (PCUSA) in Lady Lake, FL and a participating church in the Central Florida Presbytery.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Executive Director is the leader of the meal delivery mission of the church. Duties include the business operation of the mission and includes coordinating fundraising events, speaking to groups in the community, budget oversight and adherence as well as supervision of staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

1. Develop and adhere to budget for the operation of the mission.

2. Oversight and supervision of administrative and managerial staff.

3. Develop and create a fund raising activity which coordinates with the Second Mile Offering month at North Lake Presbyterian Church.

4. Develop contacts in the community to create opportunities for public speaking engagements that will promote North Lake Presbyterian Church and the mission of Operation Homebound.

5. Present periodically to the congregation information about Operation Homebound.

6. Other duties as required by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - This position requires:

1. Knowledge of operation of an industrial kitchen producing 220 plus meals a day or capacity to learn.

2. Proven interpersonal, communication, organization, analytic and problem-solving skills.

3. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others, to think and plan creatively, and to establish benchmarks and milestones to assess the efficacy of new programs and initiatives.

4. Aptitude for using technology to make work more efficient and effective. To include computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.

5. Ability to work non-routine hours as required.

6. Presentation skills to develop and present to large groups.

Education, Training and Experience:

1. Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.

2. Experience with grant writing and fund raising.

3. Management experience in business.

. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Must be able to lift and move moderately heavy loads in kitchen environment.

2. May need to be able to climb and position equipment into and out of storage areas.

3. May be required to drive a delivery route, if situation arises.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work nights and weekends, as required . Annual leave limited during specified timeframes.
