Description: College Internship in Production Operations organization. Candidate will perform manufacturing engineering related tasks in support of production at our Missiles and Fire Control Orlando facility.Candidate must be pursuing a 4 year engineering degree from an accredited college or university. Candidate must be able to develop and implement Manufacturing Process Plans (MPP's) for a variety of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies. Utilize basic drafting and software programs to develop MPP's, design tooling, support equipment, process flows.Apply lean manufacturing techniques to reduce cost and increase yields. Must have good communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment. Investigate root cause of failures/defects and implement corrective action to support continuous improvement.Basic Qualifications:Currently enrolled in an accredited degree program pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related degree.Must have the ability to obtain facility access.Desired Skills:Familiar with basic Manufacturing Engineering principlesFamiliar with engineering drawing interpretation and material propertiesFamiliar with machining concepts and equipmentExperienced with Microsoft Office (POWERPOINT, ACCESS, WORD, EXCEL). Knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly, industrial processes, technical writing, and teaming. Strong written & verbal communication skills.Knowledge of ‘Lean’ manufacturing concepts & techniques, Pro-E or equivalent CAD s/w, tool design, electronic packaging design, and MRS concepts.
