DescriptionAccountemps is looking for a Staff Accountant for a long-term temporary-to-full-time opportunity with a fast-growing company. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. You will promote the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Based in the Orlando, Florida region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.Your responsibilities in this role
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Requirements
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel
Foundational knowledge in month end closings
Comprehensive knowledge of QuickBooks
Command of Sage Accounting Software
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Efficient in ERP systems
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
