Job Summary
Pipe Foreman will supervise the lay out, assembly and installation of various sizes and types of pipe.
Qualifications:
Foreman must be able to manage and oversee pipe crew. Must work with General Superintendent to ensure schedule is met. Complete supervision and responsibility for the job site field operations, including daily production, costs, safety, organization, labor & equipment scheduling.
This candidate MUST HAVE a strong background in the following areas: Sanitary Sewer, Storm Drainage, Reuse and Domestic Water Mains.
Basic Skills:
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Foreman in Pipe &Utilities
Scheduling and directing work crews and subcontractors
Strong knowledge of plans and specifications, OSHA Requirements, Safety Protocol
Proficient skills with Deep Excavation and Dewatering
Computer skills, Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to details
Duties and Responsibilities:
Studies project specifications with project superintendent to plan procedures for pipe installation.
Coordinates and supervises daily activities for crew according to priorities and plans, adjusting as necessary
due to weather, supply delivery, and personnel
Operates assigned heavy equipment to excavate, install and backfill large pipe and culvert.
Inspects work site to determine proper installation and survey for potential hazards or safety concerns to
minimize risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
Responsible for crew safety and enforces company policies.
Plans pipe installation to reduce inference with other project activities and traveling public.
Inspects work to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications.
Uses instruments such as lasers, grade rods, eye levels and transit levels to set appropriate grade for pipe
installation.
Maintains and reports employees time.
Skills/Qualifications:
Heavy Equipment Operation and Instruction, Power Tools, Verbal Communication, Informing Others, Project Planning, Quality Management, Production Planning, Quality Focus
Valid Florida Driver’s License is required
Physical Capabilities:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Ability to climb on and off equipment safely.
Ability to bend, kneel, and squat.
Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment.
Frequently work 50 hours per week, including some Saturdays.
