Orlando Vintage Clothing & Costume is currently looking to fill a sales associate and costume stylist position. Hours will vary per week depending on the time of year and what production work we are doing at any given time. A minimum number of 24 hours per week can be guaranteed and hours may exceed 40 per week.
MINIMUM STARTING PAY OF $10.00 per hour. Yearly raises and bonuses available based on performance.
Since 1995 Orlando Vintage has been selling vintage clothing,offering theatrical quality costumes /vintage clothing rentals and attending nationwide trade shows.Orlando Vintage provides wardrobe to individuals/corporations and period Movies and Television Shows. Here is a list of Productions and clients : Disney,Universal, CSX, Madmen, Stranger Things,The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel ,IT,Insatiable, Men In Black III, Mindhunter, The Nice Guys,Boardwalk Empire, American Gangster, just to name a few.
The Role:
We are currently looking for a creative, dynamic, outgoing, retail minded individual who is hardworking and has excellent communication skills. This job is ideal for someone knowledgeable in historical fashion and Pop culture. The following describes the general nature and level of work but is not inclusive of all duties:
- Provides assistance to customers in locating merchandise and creating their desired looks. This includes costume and vintage styling.
- Ensure a positive, friendly and efficient customer experience.
- Inventory management: inspecting, cleaning, tagging, and stocking.
- Merchandising and Creating Displays.
- Operating a P.O.S system and working with inventory management software.
- General upkeep and cleaning of the shop and office area.
- Managing social media pages including Facebook, Instagram.
- Ability to use a computer, as well basic programs(Word,Excel,etc.)
- Ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines.
- Meets and maintains company values and productivity standards.
- Repairing and mending vintage clothing and costumes
Experience Needed:
- A minimum of two years retail experience, specifically in fashion.
- Knowledge of pop culture costumes and vintage clothing decades.
- Available Mon.-Sat. 10:30 am till 6:30 pm ( must be available during peak season and to meet deadlines).This may include working before and after store hours as well as Sundays.
- Own a smartphone with camera capabilities to take photographs for social media use.
- Ability to mend clothing by hand and use a sewing machine is a plus.
- Dependable transportation.
- Ability to lift and carry 45lbs. and climb stairs.
High School Diploma required. An AA degree or BA degree in Fashion or related field is preferred but not required.
