Sales Associate - Part-Time
At Wild Birds Unlimited, our mission is to bring people and nature together. We offer quality wild bird feeding products and expert advice to help customers turn their backyards into bird feeding habitats. We specialize in premium bird foods, feeders, houses, baths, binoculars, guidebooks, and more.
Overview
Sales Associates at Wild Birds Unlimited are high energy, professional and understand that the customer experience is the #1 priority.
The following items are REQUIRED of a newly hired Sales Associate:
Strong communication skills and a genuine desire to help customers.
Solid basic math skills, including calculating percentages (i.e. discounts, tax).
Strong computer skills, including basic Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and use of the Internet.
Must complete online training modules to deliver the WBU customer experience as a trusted local expert.
Read, understand and follow the Employee Handbook and wear logo apparel while working.
Successfully complete the Certified Birdfeeding Specialist Program.
Adhere to all store policies and procedures.
Be capable and willing to OFTEN lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Be capable and willing to work weekends.
Be capable and willing to work in an atmosphere where dogs are present at times.
Complete accurate, legible paperwork.
Attend store meetings as required.
Complete other duties as assigned.
The following items are expected from a Sales Associate once training has been provided:
Understand and communicate the store's merchandise to the customer.
Enjoy talking to customers and provide a high energy experience. A quiet/shy demeanor will not succeed.
Use successful selling skills to satisfy the customer, solve problems, and complete the sale.
Complete the changing of displays and restock merchandise.
Regularly clean and maintain the store's well-presented appearance.
Help keep backroom clean and organized.
