Sommer Sound Systems, the area's #1 Car, truck, marine and motorcycle specialist is offering the opportunity for internship to the right candidate. You will learn installation from pros with over 30 years combined experience. You will work with the best products on the market. By completion of the training, you will be able to install basic electrical components such as neon and LED lighting, CD players, in-dash DVD/Navigation players as well as amplifiers, speakers, build, design and upholster subwoofer enclosures, and tune a system properly. You may be thinking, "How long does the internship take to complete?" The answer to that question depends solely on the candidate's ability to learn.
Candidates should be: available Tuesday through Saturday, eager to learn, proficient at troubleshooting, are professional, punctual and reliable, able to meet deadlines, attentive to detail, well-groomed, genuinely passionate about car audio and accessories, willing to keep up to date on industry product knowledge, techniques and skills to offer top notch, true specialist service. Seem like a lot? It is, and is not for everyone. If it were easy, there would be stereo shops on every corner. There is a possibility of full-time employment opportunities post-internship.
FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS: Answer the following questions and be as thorough as possible with your answers. Number your answers to each question and use BLUE colored text for all of your answers. We are looking for the best of the best, so attention to detail is imperative.
1. What mechanical abilities do you have?
2. How long have you been installing?
3. What electrical knowledge do you have? (Ohms, voltage, amperage, etc)
4. What is your strongest ability when it comes to installation?
5. What is your weakest ability when it comes to installation?
6. How many installations have you completed in the past? (provide pictures)
7. What type and brand of electronics have you installed or worked with(alarms, amplifiers, radios, etc?)
8. Do you have tools to do the job (list available upon request)?
9. Do you have fiberglass/paint experience?
10. Have you ever worked with tire mounting and balancing machines?
11. What level of education have you completed? List any college or technical college courses or applicable skill sets (upholstery, auto mechanics, paint/body, woodworking, etc)
12. What woodworking skills do you have? (list all power tools you are familiar with, shape volume calculation)
13. What are your career goals?
14. If necessary, would you be willing/able to enroll in an accredited installation training course?
15. Write a paragraph or two and explaining why you think we should choose you for the internship.
