Manufacturing company is located on the Gulf Coast of Southwest Florida just one hour south of Tampa and two hours from Orlando is seeking a Mechanical Engineer whom is proficient in SolidWorks.

We specialize in manufacturing converting equipment primarily related to roll-to-roll converting and web alignment systems.

Job Description:

• Designing equipment that can be made reliably and will perform consistently in specified operating environments.

• Managing projects using engineering principles and techniques.

• Producing details of specifications and outline designs.

• Work directly with customers to finalize designs prior to manufacturing.

• Consider the implications of issues such as cost, safety and time constraints.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from accredited institution.

• 2 years of experience.

• Ability to conceptualize new design then follows through to completion.

• Ability to specify fabrication materials (steel, stainless alum, plastic, etc).

• Experience with customer interaction

• Design using SolidWorks 3D design software

Job Requirements:

• Ability to work directly with the customer or salesman to create a design to meet the needs of the customer's application.

• Ability to lead, detail and layout personnel through the completion of the machine design.

• Experience must include background in detailing, layout, conceptual design and checking designs before release to the shop floor.

• Willing to work in office and interface with shop floor as required.

• Willing to work overtime when required.

• Willing to travel when required (domestic and international).

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to size cylinders, transmissions and motor drives.

• Knowledge in specifying machining requirements.

• Knowledge in specifying welding requirements.
