Veterinary Technician Position (Venice)

Venice Pines Veterinary Clinic is an AAHA accredited, small animal, general practice and we are currently looking to expand our team. We are searching for a Certified/experienced Veterinary Technician that prides themselves on exceptional veterinary care and customer service. Current Veterinary Technician student and new graduates are encouraged to apply. You must be friendly, comfortable with educating clients, taking directions and working as a team. Technical experience is required but also applicants must have a great positive personality.

Skills required:

Venipuncture for blood draws and catheter placement

Perform basic physical exam

Administer subcutaneous injections including vaccines and fluids

Perform anal gland expressions, nail trims, and ear cleanings

Lab work (ear cytology, urinalysis, fecal cytology's and directs)

Able to run in house laboratory machines

Induce for Anesthetic procedures

Anesthesia monitoring (place monitoring equipment, understand and evaluate values, manually monitor patients if necessary)

Dental prophylaxis including dental x-rays

Digital radiographs

Veterinarian Pharmaceutical knowledge

Collect appropriate history from clients

Assist in pet restraint utilizing fear free methods

Assist with diagnostics and treatments

Give clear and concise instructions to the client regarding the medications and treatments prescribed by the doctor.

Cornerstone knowledge a plus

Requirement:

Education = high school or equivalent but prefer Assoc. of Veterinary Technology (CVT, LVT, RVT)

Experience = Technician position 2 years or more

Salary = Commensurate with experience, licensing, etc.
