- Applies a basic knowledge of carpentry, painting, electricity and plumbing in performing minor maintenance and self-help construction of assigned buildings and structures.
- Plans and lays out work from drawings, oral and/or written instructions by selecting materials/tools (i.e., hand or portable powered) of the carpentry trade to be used for measuring and cutting material to required length.
- Performs minor electrical work and basic plumbing tasks such as replacing switches, outlets, fixtures or bulbs, worn faucets and fixtures and clears clogged drains.
- Maintains, assembles and makes minor repairs to furniture and other assigned equipment including lawnmowers, edgers and weedeaters; orders and picks up parts as required or directed.
- Operates and performs minor vehicle operator maintenance on a variety of assigned vehicles to transport personnel, supplies, materials, or equipment in accordance with applicable instructions and completes records/reports required during vehicle usage.
