Traveling Field Investigator/CAD Technician

$50K - $65K / yr

Full-time Position, Requires travel (approximately 2-4 days a week throughout FL-AL-GA/SE-Areas), Tallahassee is home base. Will not work well with student or if traveling several days a week is not possible, traveling schedule is NOT consistent.

Job description

Field Portion:

Travel to various accident/incident scene locations, document evidence at site locations via photographs/videography/drone-mapping/survey-mapping/3D-laser-scanning.

Inspect vehicles or other types of equipment related to the incident, help determine causes and/or contributing failures.

Use specialty software/hardware to download “blackbox” type data.

In-Office :

Work under minimal supervision, supporting a project team by drafting detailed drawings, conducting research, and preparing final documents for various projects.

Serve as a resource to the engineering staff on matters concerning drafting practices and procedures.

Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and related surveying software packages to complete assignments

Organize base drawing files utilizing CAD and other related software packages.

Produce complete and detailed 2D & 3D drawings by making revisions based on the comments and plans of senior project team members.

Produce various drawings specific to the project, which differ according to the type of project and scope of work.

Communicate with team members, the Project Manager, and the Project Coordinator regarding workload status to ensure meeting project goals

Intermediate understanding and application of the following technical skills:

· AutoCAD (or similar) drafting software

· Writing, Reading and understanding field notes

· Reading and basic understanding of electrical schematics

· MS Excel, Word, and Outlook

· Pix4D or similar (Photogrammetry and Drone Mapping) software

Qualifications and Skills:

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or be highly trainable

2-3 years’ experience demonstrating proficiency with the latest CAD software and procedures

Basic knowledge of surveyor and engineering terms and practices

Ability to communicate positively with engineers, project managers and other staff

A positive attitude, work ethic, and desire to work through any challenges, drama free.

Drivers License with good driving history

Drug testing
