The Florida Department of Financial Services (DFS) is a state agency. Its headquarters are in Tallahassee, the Sunshine States Capital City. We are seeking a candidate to join our Office of Information Technology Team to serve as the IT Procurement Director.
We are looking for an excellent communicator that can communicate across various departments - both technical and non-technical. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and have strong procurement acumen and problem-solving abilities.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sourcing and procurement of IT products and services.
  • Strong commercial and legal acumen, ability to negotiate contracts and support the legal department.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills and ability to interact at all levels of management, including with external vendor community.
  • Strong data analytics capabilities, including proficiency in Excel based analytics such as pivot tables and other advanced functions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including proficiency in the English language.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (Related experience can, in some cases, be substituted for educational requirements).
What You Will Be Doing:
As the IT Procurement Director, you will be asked to take a consultative approach to develop and drive best practices for handling complex technology vendor implementation and negotiations. Internally, you will collaborate with IT Service Leads to understand their business needs, develop and execute plans while following the sourcing process. Externally, you will work with technology vendors to initiate the procurement processes in acquiring complex IT goods and services with a focus on reducing costs while achieving organizational objectives.
