We are seeking a Home Health Aid Part Time for a few hours a week, mostly on the weekends and to fill in when regular staff is away. You will provide routine healthcare at our home in Tallahassee near TMH. It will probably end up being about 5 hours a week. Patient is paralyzed and in a power wheelchair, has reasonably good use of arms. Patient does drive himself.Â
We are looking for someone to work mostly weekend hours to help the patient get out of bed between 10am-Noon. The process usually takes a couple hours. We need someone mostly for Saturdays, but Sundays are also helpful. We also need someone to fill in from time to time when spouse goes out of town (overnight checks, but not stay overnight) and for when usual staff is sick or away. Some evenings may be needed to help put the patient to bed. This usually takes an hour. Hourly rate is $12-$14 hour depending on level of experience. Call Alissa @ 850-570-4462.
You MUSTÂhave experience using a mechanical hoyer lift and net to lift patients from bed to chair. DO NOT apply if you have not used a hoyer lift and have never worked with a paralyzed patient before.
Responsibilities:
Provide personal care, such as bathingÂand dressingÂpatient
Provide specialized healthcare such as administering medication and changing bandages
Use hoyer lift to lift patient into chair
Prepare food and water for patient
Qualifications:
Experience in hospice,Âhome health, or other related fields
Positive and patient demeanor
Ability to build rapport with patient
Ability to handle physical workload such as lifting and turning patient in bed
Ability to straight cath patient is a plus
