Work Hours/Shift:Full Time/ DaysYou Will Be Responsible For:

Manages day to day operations of house-wide dialysis services.

Remains current with regulatory requirements and best practices as it relates to dialysis care and service lines.

Performs duties in a timely manner and provides updates if delays occur.

Monitors departmental performance and reports findings to the Nursing Leadership team.

Adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics, and the ANA Scope and Standards for Nursing Practice.

Communicates with courtesy when interacting with internal or external customers—in person or on the telephone.

Validates staff skill and ensures they are clinically sound and are keeping with hospital standards.

Maintains effective relationships with staffing agencies and other vendors.

Meets regularly with area AHS hospital leadership to assure that staffing needs are being met and to build collaborative customer relationships.

Demonstrates understanding of FLSA requirements.

Screens and interviews clinical personnel.

Adheres to AHS standards for dress and professional appearance for Leadership.

Manages daily operation of the dialysis department with program structure for health system, performance evaluations, competencies and daily assignments

Complies with AHS corrective action process.

Demonstrates entrepreneurial mindset to assist in service expansion.

Works closely with nursing leaders and owner of other departments to ensure cohesiveness and clear communication of staff and services provided.

Monitors and maintains compliance with budgets in all assigned cost centers.

Accountable for monthly variance report with appropriate action plans for units assigned (if required.)

Demonstrates understanding of job role and expectations to allow for autonomous decision-making, in keeping with hospital vision.

Completes and submits departmental reports to AVP of Nursing Services on a weekly and monthly basis

Demonstrates accountability by taking responsibility for decisions, actions and results.

Involved in organizing agendas and participating in monthly or quarterly departmental staff meetings.

Demonstrates an understanding of the technology used in assigned departments.

Uses basic computer skills such as word processing, data management, internet/email, and skills to access evidence based information.

Identifies opportunity and implements strategies to expand Nursing and Ancillary staffing models.

Leads the employees in a manner which develops the employee to their optimal level of performance.

Encourages staff development through educational advancement, development of staff skills, and certification and membership in professional organizations.

Promotes FHT both within the system and in the community.

Develops strategies to decrease reliance on contract labor by expanding mobile pool participation.

QualificationsWhat You Will Need:

· Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities necessary to interact with multiple departments.

· Must demonstrate ability to lead the employees of departmental responsibility, establish priorities, and motivate personnel in the delivery of care and in the establishment of meeting departmental goals

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal .

· Displays ability to solve problems and confront issues.

· Must have computer knowledge and ability to use excel and other necessary software systems.

· Demonstrates knowledge of strategic and financial planning /management of health care business .

· Ability to multi-task and to function in stressful and emergency situations.

· Acts as a role model for professionalism on assigned units of employment.

· Able to assist and mentor others in relation to the technology utilized in the department, specific to dialysis services.

· Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an Accredited School or Associate Degree Nursing with plan to complete BSN within 3 years of hire.

· Current BLS certification.

· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in health care management/leadership with a focus on dialysis services. Two years in unit management.

· Current Florida Licensure as a registered professional nurse

· Equipped with expertise to lead and develop new dialysis services with in an acute care setting.

Job Summary:The Manager Dialysis Services is a registered professional nurse who manages day-to-day operations of the Dialysis department. Demonstrates critical thinking skills, creativity, and has the knowledge to manage resources to achieve quality performance, positive employee relations, and compliance with hospital guidelines. The Manager assists Nursing Leadership teams and Medical Staff in strategies to establish and sustain safe and efficient practices for hemodialysis and associated services throughout the hospital. Ensures adequate clinical staff is available to provide services Identifies opportunity create dialysis services as a business model.
