We are looking for a SQL Server Database Administrator to join our team and help guide our Firm's global expansion through use of strategic solutions and new ideas. You will report directly to the Infrastructure Operations Team Leader.

The Opportunity:

You will work on the design, development, implementation and support of Fisher Investments database applications. The SQL Server Database Administrator will support departments through use of internally-developed and third-party software solutions, contribute to database and software specifications, and will oversee operations and enhancements of DB environment. You will also perform business analysis along with logical and physical database modeling.

The Day-to-Day:
  • Manage daily DB Administration activities and installation and configuration of SQL servers
  • Configure and monitor log shipping/Mirroring/AlwaysOn/Clustering
  • Set up and managing SQL replication
  • Install, configure, and manage SQL clusters
  • Take backups and restores
  • Write good T-SQL code and do code reviews
  • Performance Tuning and problem resolution
  • Code migration among different environments
  • Implement DB security
  • Support DB environment and participate in on-call rotation

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years experience in SQL 2012/2016/2019 development and administration
  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, computer science, math, or other science field, or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Good knowledge in SSIS and SSRS
  • In-depth understanding of SQL architecture
  • Experience with replication topologies and components
  • Expert knowledge in SQL clustering and availability groups
  • Logical and physical design experience
  • Experience in both OLTP and Data warehousing environments
  • Good experience implementing operational automation through SQL tools and PowerShell
  • Good experience with cloud migration tasks (Azure)
