The Freight Manager & Dispatcher oversees and directs the work activities of drivers involved in the transportation and handling of cargo.
A Freight Manager & Dispatcher generally oversees up to 5 drivers using freight trucks, box trucks and cargo vans.
This position requires the flexibility to work 40-50 hours per week as required. The Freight Manager and dispatcher reports directly to the company owner.
Overview:
We provide local pick ups and deliveries from around the Tampa area and within the state of Florida with a small fleet of box trucks and cargo vans.
Work is mostly Mon-Fri.
You will receive a 1099 form to file your own taxes after the end of the year. This is not an employee position you will be an independent contractor.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Work with others to coordinate delivery schedules
Able to use forklift and pallet jack as needed in the warehouse
Dispatch and support drivers, effectively route drivers throughout the day to ensure efficient, timely service
Take customer and driver calls to coordinate pick-ups and deliveries
Customer service experience in handling difficult clients and customers
Scheduling and verifying pick-up and delivery appointments with shippers and receivers
Review and process paperwork daily
Assist drivers with issues that may arise
Perform general office administrative duties and other duties as assigned by the Owner
Qualifications:
Professional customer service minded attitude
Dispatch experience required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task, maintain professionalism, and provide excellent customer service
Detail oriented and excellent note taker
Computer literate in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word. Ability to learn in-house systems.
