Tech Editor
The Sage Groups client, the world's largest IBX data center & colocation provider, is seeking a Technical Editor to interact cross-functionally with developers, sales, marketing and customer operations/support to edit/produce top quality and clear, technically-based copy. This position requires strong writing skills and 2 years of experience writing for a B2B audience in the tech sector. The ideal candidate will have the ability to use and understand complex interconnection products services and create user and reference manuals as required.
You will:
Gather, analyze and compose complex technical information and translate into clear, compelling and business-focused documents, to be consumed by both technical and non-technical audiences
Conduct research and ensure the use of proper terminology
Edit content for white papers, solution briefs, battle cards, data sheets, e-books, info papers, FAQs and fact sheets
Coordinate and conduct interviews with subject matter experts, sales and marketing stakeholders, and others as needed
Translate technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel
Proofread and perform difficult and/or complex writing and editorial functions, including formatting and style sheet verification, copy editing, rewriting, revising and writing
Ensure consistency, clarity, and quality in and across all types of assets
Review content of assets for quality
Basic Qualifications:
BA/BS in relevant fields (Example: business/marketing, computer science, management information systems, engineering etc.)
2+ Years experience in technical writing and editing
Attention to detail with excellent oral and written communication skills
2+ years experience Microsoft Office, including strong PowerPoint skills
Ability to manage multiple projects that are relatively complex in scope and demonstrate effective time-management skills to comply with project deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in communicating complex systems, preferably computer technology and data center technology-related
Ability to recommend formats responsive to technical and customer requirements
Exhibits strong interpersonal skills
Exhibits a strong understanding of processes, format, style and tools
Exhibits superior knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation, including AP style
Experience with writing for motion and animation projects a plus
Familiarity with CMS, DAM and content tagging a plus
Duration: 12+ Months with opportunity to convert
