Work Hours/Shift:Full time / DayYou Will Be Responsible For:
Leading –Has a working knowledge of performance expectations for assigned micro team.Monitors performance of the staff and report’s findings to the Laboratory Manager andtakes corrective action for improvement as appropriate.
Uses independent judgment to make recommendations to Laboratory Manager regarding:
Applicant selection for interview and input into the hiring process after actively
participating in the interview process.
Perform evaluations/validation of supervised employees.
Recommends promotion of supervised employees, recommends bonuses and
awarding of other discretionary rewards to supervised employees.
The adjustment/resolution of complaints, concerns, and problems of supervised
employees regarding work assignments, hours of work overtime scheduling, and
other work-related matters.
Leads the employees in a manner which develops the employee to their optimal level of performance.
Mentors and coach’s employees on a continual basis in order to assure competency in care delivery.
Assures diversity of staff is positively fostered in the work environment. Actively involves all groups in shared decision-making where appropriate.
Follows laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing.
Performs and reports all Laboratory patient testing in a timely and accurate manner.
Provides technical oversight to the department during scheduled shifts.
Assists in establishing and adheres to laboratory's Quality Control policies and documents all Quality Control activities.
Coordinates and insures accuracy and completeness of department quality assurance activities.
Coordinates and insures maintenance, calibrations, and troubleshooting of department instrumentation and test systems.
QualificationsWhat You Will Need:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
BS degree in science or medical technology with at least 5 years of clinical laboratory experience in high complexity testing. (Required)
Meet Federal & Government CLIA requirements as a Technical Supervisor. (Required)
Current Florida license as a Laboratory Supervisor (all areas preferred).
ASCP registration preferred
Ability to lead the employees in the delivery of exceptional patient care
Must be proficient in the English language
Serology License/certification preferred
Job Summary:Provides information for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease by conducting medical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses. Monitors workflow and evaluates compliance with service guarantees.
