Do it here.What you’ll be doingAs a Senior Manager in Data Engineering, you will oversee scope prioritization and end to end delivery of data & AI/ML products in support of a critical fiber project by leading a team of data engineers and scientists working in Hadoop ecosystems. This leadership position will harness team's big data and AI/ML capabilities to monetize fiber assets by driving automation and intelligent insights via collaborating with stakeholders.This role is part of the Artificial and Intelligence (AI&D) organization which focuses on delivering the power of data and AI to drive our marketplace leadership through innovative solutions that create value for our customers, shareholders, V teamers and society, responsibly. At Verizon, we are on a multi-year journey to industrialize our data practices and AI capabilities. Very simply, this means that AI and data will fuel all decisions and business processes across the company.Define and drive data & AI/ML products vision, roadmap, backlogs and ensure execution excellence with business outcome-oriented metrics. Drives use cases through complete lifecycle.

Ensure the highest levels of data quality, reliability, security and usability in all deliverables.

Drive data strategy in developing and maintaining a perspective on how data could be leveraged across the Verizon ecosystem, and serve as a promotor.

Interact with business users and IT teams, empathize with their pain points, analyse their data needs and drive end to end solutioning of data driven solutions.

Work closely with end/business users, data engineering teams, solution architects, and data platform teams to design best in class solutions and drive joint priorities.

Establish contemporary, best in class data management practices in line with the architectural Northstar defined by the organization.

Mentoring junior team members on technical and functional skills.

You have a track record of leading complex, large-scale data projects and data products. You are a strategic thinker with an ability to apply a business mindset to data issues and initiatives, craft cross-business strategies and plans for multiple stakeholders. You are obsessed with customer success and inspire the team to go above and beyond. You are able to thrive in ambiguity and define the path forward.You will need to have:Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience

Six or more years of relevant experience

Experience in collaborating with data engineers, architects, data scientists and enterprise platform teams

Experience to Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Experience working with B2B Marketing platforms, data in support of growth and retention

Even better if you have one or more of the following:Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering or other related fields

Experience working with B2B Marketing platforms, data in support of growth and retention

Experience designing and deploying data products and ML models in production

Experience working in Hadoop ecosystem leveraging HDFS, PIG, Oozie leveraging ML tools like MLFlow, SHAP, & ELI5

Experience in handling data security and governance

Experience to scaled agile-based product development methodology

Communication and analytical skills
