Anticipates and responds to inquiries and needs in an assertive, yet courteous manner. Assists all customers, guests, patients, and healthcare team with appropriate information requested.In addition, when working Guest Services: Performs other specialty services and duties as requested to ensure the smooth operation of the Guest Services/Information Department.Registers patients for Outpatient and/or Inpatient services, ensuring patient demographics and account information are appropriate for patient account type as determined by patient’s visit and as directed by department leadership. Responsible for placing clear and thorough financial assessments, authorizations/pre-certs, and/or benefit memos on patient accounts to ensure expeditious billing and to protect financial standing of AdventHealth.Meets or exceeds accuracy standard goal determined by department leadership. Ensures integrity of patient accounts by working error reports daily, entering accurate data, and documenting all attempts made to collect and/or obtain missing documentation. Meets or exceeds upfront collection standard goal assigned to location of responsibility to protect financial standing of AdventHealth. Proactively seeks assistance to improve collections. Reviews all collection reports timely, as assigned by leadership. May perform cashiering functions and other duties as required in support of the pre-established legal and financial guidelines of AdventHealth.QualificationsWhat You Will Need:Required:Ability to use discretion when discussing employee/patient related issues that are confidential in nature Ability to respond to ever-changing matrix of hospital needs and act accordingly Self-motivator, quick thinker Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in English, both verbally and in writingPreferred:High school diploma or GEDCustomer service experienceJob Summary:Under supervision, registers patients for Outpatient and/or Inpatient services. Meets or exceeds collection standard goals by discussing financial responsibilities with patients at time of service. Ensures patient demographics and account information are appropriate for patient account type as determined by patient’s visit. Meets or exceeds accuracy goals monthly. Responsible for placing clear and thorough financial assessments, authorizations/pre-certs, and/or benefit memos on patient accounts to ensure expeditious billing and to protect financial standing of AdventHealth. Adheres to AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.
