Description:
Involved in every step of the development process, from brainstorming, proof of concept, development and testing. Develop a close working relationship with colleagues in the sales and marketing organizations to understand the market space and to translate that knowledge to product requirements. Bring an appropriate management of risk to projects and establish a culture of smart risk-taking and challenges to the status quo.
Job Responsibilities
· Work with the Program leader, external partners, cross-functional teams and sub teams to participate in the design innovative medical device products.
· Translate customer and marketing, product and software requirements into tests which can be successfully verified, validated and launched.
· Plan software test resources (internal or external) and provide schedule estimates.
· Under minimal direction, align test procedures, and related documentation supporting system development to known standards.
· Develop solutions to solve extremely complex problems in test automation frameworks.
· Implement new tools, techniques and processes to reduce test maintenance effort.
· Presents at design reviews; documents and resolves issues as directed.
· Generate software test plans, protocols, and reports
· Mentor less senior team members and peer review software artifacts including requirement specifications, risk analyses, etc. for testability and traceability.
· Develop and maintain strong working relationships with partners in the Quality and Operations organizations to work to ensure smooth and timely product introductions.
· Ability to travel up to 20-25% at times, some international.
· Strong technical understanding of software, firmware and hardware interactions, including RTOS (Real Time Operating System)
· Flexibility to work both in a Stage gate/Waterfall and an Agile development model environment
· Strong proficiency in C/C.
Work experience
· 5+ years of experience in embedded software development
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar field
