MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES The successful candidate will be a key member of the Global Technical Operations (GTO) team and will be responsible for defining and driving technology programs in an assigned Biomaterial Components technology platform. The key technology platforms used in the manufacture of biomaterial components include polymer processing for the development and manufacture of fibre/medical textile components and metals processing to produce medical (suture) needles. KEY AREAS OF FOCUS WILL BE: Program management and governance of the assigned technology platform project portfolio

Collaborate with Site technical teams, product value streams, manufacturing site leadership, R&D and other relevant functions to identify and drive platform initiatives

Develop and implement a long range/strategic technology program for the network. This will include a technology roadmap and investment master plan, aligned with the MedTech and WCH business objectives in Safety, Quality, Customer Service and Cost.

Establish a global platform governance team to drive alignment to enable outstanding technology solutions across our global manufacturing network.

Define and maintain a set of global platform metrics to include key quality, cost and process metrics to enable platform performance improvement and network alignment

OTHER AREAS OF FOCUS

Cultivate external contacts and forge internal collaboration across all levels of the enterprise. Manage expectations with equipment and to align their delivery to agreed contract.

Facilitate the development and implementation of ground-breaking innovation and major technology improvements over the strategic horizon.

Guide team members regarding commissioning and qualifications strategies for the network programs.

Talent development of platform team members through coaching, and mentoring. Collaborate with the global teams and ensure alignment across sites on the peocess and equipment being designed

Excellent Program Management (planning and organization) skills. Drive, energy and passion for delivering to commitments.

Strong mentoring & coaching skills.

Ability to lead multiple assignments with sound analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, coupled with strong aligning and influencing skills.

Extent of confidentiality - discretion is critical in view of contact with outside parties, product development strategies, regulatory and sales information.

QualificationsEXPERIENCE AND KEY PROFICIENCIES A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in a business or technical role is required.

Medical Device, Pharmaceutical and/or Biologics experience is helpful.

People management experience is an advantage.

Ability to manage technology, embrace financial goals and utilize customer-focused decision-making

Project Management Proficiency (min of 5-years of several significant project management experience required.)

Experience leading cross-functional teams is preferred

Experience in building business strategies and driving strategy implementation is preferred

EDUCATION

A minimum of a Bachelors degree is required in an Engineering or Science related field.

An advanced degree, such as an MS or an MBA is helpful.

Six Sigma/Process Excellence and Project Management/PMP/FPX certification is preferred.

LOCATION & TRAVEL

Position can be based in any WCH location with a strong preference for manufacturing locations Cornelia/Athens GA, or Raritan NJ, Norderstedt Germany, Sao Jose dos Campos Brazil.

This position may require up to 25% Domestic and International travel.
