Consolidated Engineering Laboratories is currently seeking to hire a Special Inspector based out of its office in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Consolidated Engineering Laboratories has been providing engineering and materials testing services to the construction industry since 1976. We view our role as helping the construction team achieve their objective, which means a project built on time in accordance with the plans and specifications and with the quality intended by the design team.
SUMMARY:
Inspectors observe work in progress to ensure that procedures and materials conform to contract documents and applicable codes; examine finished work to ensure compliance with regulations governing construction; maintain daily log of construction and inspection activities; prepare related reports and records; prepare samples of soil or other materials for testing; interpret blueprints and specs; perform calculations relative to inspection requirements. Communicate with on site staff to solve problems.
Requirements:
- Valid certificates such as ICC, RC, PT, SM, HS Bolting certifications;
- Valid drivers license;
- Willing to use own vehicle for job;
- Knowledge of the State & local building codes & regulations;
- Ability to read, including blueprints,
- Knowledge of mathematical calculations; building standards; terminology & construction methods; occupational health & safety standards, inspection methods, procedures & record keeping;
- Able to lift &/or move up to 50 lbs;
- Must pass physical & drug screen.
Inspector level will be determined by level of experience. Hourly pay is determined by union contract.
