We are a growing millwork/furniture manufacturer wanting to interview potential applicants for the opportunity as Purchasing Manager. Our business is growing and we need a multi-tasking positive applicant for this role.
As a purchasing manager you will be responsible for our material supply chain, sourcing and managing vendors. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of research, develop pricing agreements, minimizing delays in manufacturing and minimizing warehouse costs by streamlining our supply chain.
Duties will include:
⢠Establish and maintain working relationship with suppliers and trade partners
⢠Manage material lead times, supply chain logistics, and ensure on-time material delivery
⢠Compare material quotes and identify potential cost savings
⢠Ensure timely order submission and material arrival
⢠Monitor and assess vendor performance
⢠Resolve Issues and conflicts with material vendors
⢠Assist with estimates on cost of materials
⢠Review and ensure compliance to project specifications
⢠Understand and minimize the negative implications of cost increases, logistics issues, or other unexpected occurrences related to material orders and deliveries
⢠Review and approve material invoices, request credits for incorrectly priced/delivered items
Requirements:
⢠Knowledge of construction industry in general and manufacturing in particular;
⢠Proficiency in use of computer and software programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
⢠Minimum of 3-5 years of manufacturing and/or construction purchasing and supply chain experience
Preferred Professional and Personal Qualifications:
⢠Casework / Cabinetry industry experience;
⢠Ability to work under tight and changing deadlines;
⢠Problem solving and get-it-done attitude;
⢠Entrepreneurial approach;
⢠Ability to learn and work independently in a fast paced environment
Experience:
⢠Purchasing: 3 years (Preferred)
⢠Manufacturing: 3 years (Preferred)
