Job Description:

Global Business Services (GBS) and more specifically Shared Technology Services (STS) Agile Skill Group is looking for an Agile Coach that is capable of educating Agile Release Trains and technical teams on the enterprise Agile methodology.

The Agile Coach is responsible for arming Agile teams and Agile Release trains with the right knowledge, tools, and training ultimately resulting in positive business outcomes. Additionally, they provide training to teams on various Agile frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, XP, Scrumban and how to deliver at scale.

This role empowers teams to become self-managing, fulfill their cross-functional potential, and have an attitude of relentless improvement.

The Agile Coach's baseline contributions to the organization are increased delivery speed, predictable delivery on a cadence , high quality solutions and improved operational maturity.

This role resides within Global Business Services (GBS) and more specifically Shared Technology Services (STS).

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on Agile coaching to Senior Leaders, their direct reports, release trains and agile teams.
  • Evaluate and mentor existing Agile feature teams. Able to provide tailored coaching.
  • Lead roles and teams to embrace a Lean-Agile and learning mindset.
  • Facilitate discussions, decision making sessions, and conflict resolution across teams.
  • Accountable for improvement in the delivery of software.
  • Deliver training classes for product owners, new teams, and executive leadership to promote and improve agility
  • Must have the ability to train the trainers -Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers, Product Owners etc.
  • Help to identify and resolve organizational impediments that impact overall adoption, team maturity and performance.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding the progress of Agile adoption and maturity within their teams.
  • Help form and sustain Agile Communities of Practice and participate in the Agile Center of Excellence.
  • Provide backlog maintenance and prioritization best practices to Product Owners and Scrum masters.
  • Able to provide best practices on the facilitation of Agile ceremonies.

Required Skills
  • 5-7 years of experience in technology and serving as a hands on Certified Scrum Master in a scaled agile environment.
  • 2-3 years working in an Agility training / coaching role with exposure to large organizational transformations.
  • 5+ years of various Agile best practices and frameworks ( Scrum, Kanban, XP, SAFe) .
  • SAFe SPC 5 certification (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Lean Agile SDLC processes and deliverables.
  • Ability to lead discussions and learning sessions with 30+ attendees.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience in developing and delivering Agile education sessions. Able to train the trainers.
  • Experience in education at all levels of management within the agile framework (portfolio, program, and team).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Positive attitude and open to giving and receiving constructive feedback.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to foster strong partnerships at enterprise level.

  • Certified ICP-ATF - Agile Team Facilitation
  • Certified ICP-ACC - Agile Coaching
  • Previous banking experience - familiar with Enterprise Change Management processes.
