Grad Ed/Biom Sci PgmPosition SummaryThis position is responsible for leading in the planning, administering and managing of the divisional academic programs, student experience for all graduate educational programs and the Office of Career Connections. The Assistant Director will develop and monitor the budget for the academic degree programs, overall graduate student experience, student recruitment, student tracking, facilitate recruitment activities in collaboration with the Office of Graduate Education in Biomedical Sciences, and day-to-day operations for the Division of GEBS academic programs. Additionally, the Assistant Director will coordinate professional development workshops, will have oversight and maintain the website for the Office of Career Connections, and develop both on-campus and distant learning content for all MSM learners by fostering external relationships with organizations that provide opportunities for all MSM students. Lastly, the Assistant Director will act as an ombudsperson to establish a formal process to handle student complaints.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.Works collaboratively with the Office of GEBS and Office of Career Connections staff and faculty to carry out, plan and implement academic program related activities

2.Contributes to the formation, enforcement and tracking of policies that impact student outcomes and learning

3.Works effectively and collaboratively with individuals/stakeholders to maintain, improve and further develop degree programs at MSM

4.Develops, monitors and maintains program budgets in a fiduciary manner to ensure a fiscally sound budget process

5.Provides strategic leadership to grow the academic programs in the Division of Graduate Education in Biomedical Sciences and expanding collaborative relationship with industry and research partners

6.Works collaboratively with the GEBS Assessment & Operations Director to assess and report on plans, student outcomes and learning objectives

7.Submits requested information in a timely manner to support administrative and/or accreditation requirements

8.Assists in managing the graduate education programs admissions processes effectively in collaboration with the Director of GEBS Assessment & Operations and program admissions chairs

9.Leads in the development, implementation and/or designs of programs directly related to recruitment of students for the Division of Graduate Education

10.Effectively coordinates all administrative activities related to the Division of Graduate Education in Biomedical Sciences and the Office of Career Connections

11.Provide impartial and confidential consultation with faculty/leadership to support GEBS learners in conflict resolution

12.Serve as the graduate education program resource for officials in formulating, monitoring, modifying or updating policy and procedures.,

13.Performs other duties as assigned by the Office of Career Connections Director and GEBS Assessment & Operations DirectorMinimum QualificationsA Bachelor’s Degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution is required.Minimum three years of administrative office experience, including two years of experience in budget and graduate course management. PC skills and knowledge of specified software, including two years experience using computers and various software packages, i.e. MicroSoft Word, MicroSoft Excel, Access, MicroSoft PowerPoint, Canvas, etc.Preferred QualificationsDoctoral degree or equivalent is preferred,Posting Date
