Are YOU ready to join us?DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:The incumbent is responsible for overseeing continuous improvement initiatives across the healthcare system or assigned business unit, ensuring appropriate planning, implementation, and execution of continuous improvement activities.

As a strategic improvement leader, the incumbent will drive system-wide adoption of problem solving and continuous process improvement that aligns to strategy, contributing to a sustainable culture of operational excellence.

Serves as strategic facilitator, trainer, advisor, and liaison to the organization's leaders on matters related to continuous improvement providing technical and business support while ensuring initiative deployment at all target sites.

Provides leadership to the development, implementation, and governance of Emory Healthcare's lean efforts.

Facilitates leadership to challenge status quo thinking.

Identifies and prioritizes projects based on proposed strategic, quality, and financial outcomes for the organization.

Mentors leaders and teams with implementation of the continuous improvement management system and methodologies.

Conducts improvement project design and resource allocation;

Monitors project performance, course-correcting and providing change management support as required.

Maintains business acumen, understanding the strategic direction and operational performance requirements of assigned customers.

Provides support and training to individuals leading continuous improvement efforts in functional areas sharing training effectiveness with senior leadership.

Identifies best practices for continuous improvement education, collaborating with Organizational

Development to create relevant education modules.

Oversees data reporting and status documentation associated with the projects, including but not limited to verification of data collection and monitoring, and timely status reporting.

Serves on committees, task forces, and peer networks as appropriate.

Supervises members of the continuous improvement department.

Coordinates the development of internal facilitators and instructors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Master's Degree in Business, Organization Development, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Nursing, Engineering or related field.

Five years of leadership experience in a complex healthcare system leading continuous improvement/process improvement-based transformations.

Certifications in Project Management, Lean, Six Sigma preferred, but not required.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock , Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
