Biostatistician / Data Manager

Job Location: Atlanta with option to work from home

The candidate shall provide data management support for data collection and reporting activities of the Prevention Research Center (PRC) Program’s Evaluation and Reporting System (PERS) – a data collection application (currently in REDCap) developed and maintained within the Evaluation Team of the Prevention Research and Translation Branch of the Division of Population Health. The PRC Program collects data on a standardized set of indicators that provide information on the inputs, activities, outputs, and outcomes of the PRC awardees – a current network of 26 academic institutions participating in community-engaged applied prevention research activities. All tasks require collaboration with the Evaluation Team Lead, FTE Program Monitoring Data lead and other PRTB staff.


Duties:
  • Develop, support, and maintain reports, data, and underlying software routines that list, in detail, monitoring and evaluation data collected through PRC-PERS and other data collection sources (e.g., progress reports, closeout reports).
  • Develop, support, and maintain annual and periodic reports and presentations that summarize data collected by individual PRCs as well as by the overall network of PRCs.
  • Develop, support, and maintain Access, Excel, and other database compatible outputs that can be shared both internally and externally to PRC Program staff, branch staff, division staff, and participating PRC awardees.
  • Develop, support, and maintain data visualizations that summarize data collected for mixed audiences such as CDC leadership, team members and PRC awardees to identify trends and opportunities for program enhancement and quality improvement as well as identification of significant scientific trends and evidence developed by the network of applied public health prevention academic awardees.
  • Develop, support, and maintain analysis plans and systems of data collected via PRC-PERS and other monitoring and evaluation data.
  • Generate analyzable datasets and related “data dictionaries” from collected data in various formats. Examples are Excel, SAS datasets, relational Access databases, etc. Develop customized datasets for health scientist analysis when requested.
  • Develop and disseminate guidance materials and communications to educate, train and provide technical assistance to internal and external users of PRC-PERs and other data collection systems. The materials should be revised as needed and developed in consultation with stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:
Intermediate SAS, Excel, relational database (e.g., MS Access) skills required. Experience in PowerBI, R, etc. preferred, or ability to learn. Candidate should have a collaborative work style and the ability to effectively engage with and incorporate input from internal and external stakeholders.
