Summary The Medical Records Coordinator maintains the medical records at the Center in accordance with State and Federal Regulations. He/she maintains and organizes the medical records per professional standards of practice and per facility policy and procedures. Location: Sandy Springs Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 5:00pm Job Type: Full Time Essential Duties & Responsibilities Ensures that all medical records are accurately organized and performs chart audit for completion.

Retrieves and places operative reports in patient's chart.

Processes medical record requests received from attorneys, patients, insurance companies, physicians, clinics, and hospitals.

Files and pulls charts as necessary.

Requests off site medical records from storage company.

Maintains area of Special Assignment.

Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

1-2 years of administrative experience.

Knowledgeable in basic clinical functions, administrative practices, and operational procedures in a medical setting is preferred.

Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of medical terminology a plus.

Knowledgeable of the customer service industry.

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.

Knowledge of HIPAA or Release of information.

Typing speed 55 wpm and the ability to use a calculator.

Sanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures in place
