Exciting work you will do:
  • Use knowledge of data analytics to increase client impact and grow your career
  • Work with new and emerging technologies
  • Lead workstreams or small projects, working to creatively solve complex technical and business problems that in the end drive real business value
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients to understand the business problem, work through solutioning, and present analytic solutions to the client
  • Handle large volumes of data in a variety of formats for preparation of data insights
  • Use your experience to help organisations develop data strategies
  • Build effective visual presentations and analytical dashboards using PowerBI, Tableau and other tools to present analytical findings
  • Establish positive relationships with clients and peers that build credibility, foster your support network and empower career development
  • Develop a deeper understanding of our firm's shared vision to build our clients' capabilities and unleash their potential

What you will need:

The variety of our clients' problems and tech stack means that we don't focus overly on knowledge of a specific set of tools - your aptitude and ability to choose the right tool for the job are as important. To succeed as a North Highland Senior Consultant, you will need:
  • 4+ years of hands-on analytics experience
  • A demonstrated track record of successful consulting engagement experience; including a role in managing juniors and interfacing with senior level client executives
  • To be a motivated self-starter enjoying the fast-paced world of analytics consulting
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) to technical and non-technical audience of a wide variety of levels including client-facing senior management
  • Ability to self-direct and manage priorities; ability to handle issues that are not well-defined and/or conflict with available information; ability to successfully navigate ambiguity to resolution
  • Ability to lead workstreams or small projects, to manage clients and other stakeholders
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships across the organization, and influence senior management, peers and staff through an inclusive style and recognition of their abilities to achieve results
  • Some or all of the following:
    • Solid SQL and database skills including stored procedures, database design, and data modelling.
    • Familiarity with cloud technologies - typically one or more of GCP, AWS or Azure
    • Data Visualization tools: Tableau, QlikView, Power BI, etc.
    • Analytical scripting language skills, such as Python, R, or SAS.
    • Experience with wide array of analytical approaches (correlation analysis, predictive and explanatory modeling, data mining, unsupervised clustering, analysis of unstructured data)
    • Working knowledge of data movement ETL technologies
    • Experience building and deploying data visualisation using tools such as: Tableau, QlikView, Power BI, etc.

Optional Skills / Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree or better in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field is a bonus
  • Professional certifications in data technologies (BI tools, cloud technologies, ETL, etc.)
  • Familiarity with the scripting data and machine learning ecosystems - (Jupyter Notebooks, scikit-learn, SciPy, NumPy, pandas, Matplotlib, TensorFlow, etc.)
  • Experience of embedding analytics across other consulting offerings
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform inc Power Apps and Power Automate
