JOB ID:-1912992A Software Test Engineer is responsible for managing, planning, and executing quality assurance test activities during all phases of Agile sprints and releases (e.g., test plan development, development of test scripts, test automation, and execution of test scripts, involvement with debugging and troubleshooting issues, impact and gap analysis, etc.). This role also continually tracks test case development, maintenance, automation and execution, bug/defect tracking and reporting, integration, and user-acceptance. To be successful in the role of Software Test Engineer one must have an Agile mindset, which involves being collaborative, focusing on delivering value, and being able to work effectively in a fluid, fast-paced environment while maintaining good communication with management and team members.Job Responsibilities:Analyzes functional and technical requirements and translate them into manual and/or automatable test scenarios.Adapts to changing requirements, estimates/re-estimates work efforts, and test creatively with an organized risk-based approach. Provides ownership and accountability for assigned testing, keeping aware of progress and risks per milestone.Creates reliable work estimates and schedule for self and others, and identifies associated dependencies, constraints and assumptions.Exercises complete test coverage of all areas of risk on a product.Assesses testing issues and risks and communicates internally and externally.Provides effective communication with external / internal partners on the progress of tasks, goals, objectives, and testing efforts. Ensures delivery against QA department goals, standards, processes and procedures, i.e. test case creation and maintenance, in-sprint test automation etc. Utilizes Rally to effectively define, document and maintain thorough test plans along with developing, maintaining and executing test cases.Provides statistical and technical analysis of test data to determine that testing activities provide adequate test effort and test coverage to meet contractual obligations with businesses.Uses testing best practices to identify practices within Agile teams that do not contribute to their efficiency and overall success. Works to bring practices in line with goals and monitors Agile teams to ensure discipline to all testing processes.Models policies and processes to team members.Uses statistical analysis techniques and tools to identify and report on testing trends.Helps Agile teams identify new or revised action plans based on trend analysis.Builds and manages productive and effective relationships with team members; demonstrates respect to others.Utilizes a variety of means to regularly communicate and collaborate with fellow Agile team members to provide status updates (i.e. Face to face discussions, Microsoft Teams etc. ).
