Human ResourcesPosition SummaryOverviewMorehouse School of Medicine (“MSM”) is seeking a Senior Benefits Analyst who serves as the subject matter expert for administration and analysis of MSM’s health/welfare and 403b plans. The successful candidate will oversee benefit programs including tracking and managing financials, analytics, operations, administration, compliance, communications, and process improvements. He/she will manage vendor relationships to ensure timely, accurate and compliant delivery of programs and works with HRIS to ensure data flow for plan administration is accurate and timely.Position Summary Perform research to resolve problems with benefits eligibility or enrollment including health, welfare & retirement plans. Act as a liaison with carriers and third-party administrators.
Lead the annual 403(b) audit, managing the process and relationship with the auditors and Third-Party Administrator.
Responsible for 403(b) plan administration – bi-weekly contribution funding, employer calculation and funding, annual financial audit, non-discrimination testing, and Retirement Plan Committee meeting coordination.
Enter data into carrier, vendor, and employer HRIS system on a timely basis.
Daily benefits administration: Processing, handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, distributions, loans, hardships, and compliance testing. 403(b) audit.
Responsible for all aspects of annual Open Enrollment; development of the time and action and coordination of all activities, including planning system set-up and testing, and employee communications.
Monitor and maintain all regulatory filings related to benefit programs (annual financial audits, 5500 reporting, SAR’s, SPD’s, ACA reporting, etc.).
Analyze and reconcile monthly benefit invoices for all benefit vendors to ensure accuracy of invoices.
Assist in gathering and analyzing current benefits costs in an on-going effort to maintain equity with current benefit trends, compliance standards and legislative requirements.
Utilize data to monitor participation, utilization rates and trends in employee benefits programs on a regular basis. Identify problem areas in processes, troubleshoot issues, and recommend solutions.
Participate in recommending and implementing approved, new, or modified plans and employee benefit policies, and supports administration of existing plans.
Report Worker’s Compensation claims to our vendor.The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this classification. Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience working with Human Resource systems – Banner knowledge is a plus.Preferred QualificationsCertified Benefits Professional (CBP) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) certifications or Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR).Posting Date
