Our client is seeking a Release Train Engineer (RTE) whose primary purpose is to lead Agile Release Trains to success by navigating the complexity of delivering software solutions consistently across large and distinct environments.
Here's what you'll be doing:
Overseeing large release train(s) (grouping of agile teams) that are of strategic importance to our business, and that have complex scope and inter-dependencies
Facilitating the coordinated preparation of planning for the release train, including communication and coordination with stakeholders and customers during feature definition and delivery
Facilitating breakdown of work into epics and features across the ART working with Product, Architecture, Engineering, and UX
Actively managing the backlog and facilitates continuous planning across the ART and delivery teams to ensure execution against the ART's roadmap
Managing cross team dependencies
Actively managing the Agile Lifecycle Management (ALM) tool ensuring data integrity for accurate reporting (this includes the collection of metrics and KPI's)
Coordinating major feature releases and ongoing delivery of value to customers where multiple teams, release trains, or solution groups are involved in development
Raising risks / issues and removing blockers from delivery teams
Leveraging agile delivery metrics and regular agile ceremonies to identify and drive continuous improvement, in order to maximize organizational performance and execution against the backlog
Regularly participating in the RTE Community of Practice helping the organization to maintain alignment, learn new techniques, and improve technical and quality practices and working with RTE community to determine ways to help ARTs across the company improve cross train and solution group coordination and collaboration
Applying agile principles and methodology solutions with a pragmatic, stakeholder management approach
Coaching team on agile and lean practices
Here's our ideal candidate has:
5+ years' experience as RTE, Scrum Master, Product Owner, or other Agile-focused role
Understanding of the difference between "being Agile" and "doing Agile"
Understanding of Lean thinking and implementation
Experience leveraging and interpreting agile metrics
Understanding of Agile at scale philosophies & methodologies
Experience with Organizational Change Management practices is preferred
SAFe certification(s) is a plus
Experience using Rally is a plus
Strong technical aptitude and experience leading teams in delivering quality software
Effective communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence peers and stakeholders
