Perform calculations for structural steel and concrete restoration designs under the direction of a technical manager. Designs vary in complexity and include the reinforcing, restoration and support of transmission line towers and poles.
Provide field support and Quality Assurance for assigned transmission structure projects within the steel and concrete Corrosion Services team (inspections, engineering, repairs, cathodic protection, etc.).
Write reports and technical documents.
Interact with customers via phone, email and web as necessary to support the Corrosion Services team.
Provide live training, webinars and demos as required to support existing and potential field and customer training requirements relating to corrosion inspection and repair.
Perform inspections and field work in accordance with contract requirements.
Assist in planning and prioritizing structural corrosion control and cathodic protection within project guidelines.
Support pilot projects for all business units by providing field support, writing reports and compiling data for presentations.
Support R&D projects by participating in field work, performing data collection, compiling data and writing reports.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or engineering technology (civil, structural) from an accredited program and prior experience with the testing of concrete, steel and soils; experience detailing utility structures a plus. We have a several positions available at different levels; salary and job title is based on experience.
Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination and certification as an Engineer In Training (EIT).
Willingness to participate in additional training and certifications to support the company's corrosion program such as NACE Basic Corrosion, NACE Level I CIP, NACE Level I CP
Willingness to occasionally travel overnight (0-20%) and work varied hours, sometimes in harsh weather conditions, to achieve desired results.
