Job Description:
Currently looking for Public Health Analysts and Health Communications Specialists to join our team in support of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ( CDC ) - Joint Information Center (JIC). The CDC activated its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to lead the novel coronavirus (COVID19) response. The Joint Information Center (JIC) and the various Task Forces (TFs) supporting the response require a variety of health communication support to carry out critical functions to continue to support this response. This position is for full time employment and will eventually be located onsite at the customer's location in Atlanta, Georgia. ( CDC 's domestic facilities are currently operating under "maximum telework" due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This position will be 100% work from home until CDC 's facilities begin to resume normal operations.) Applicants should be local to Atlanta, GA or willing to relocate to the area at your own expense and able to go onsite when operations resume.
CDC's JIC is a 24/7 emergency communication unit that serves as the primary point of information coordination during a CDC Incident Management System (IMS) activation. The JIC is primarily staffed by a network of emergency communicators who ensure that accurate health protection information is quickly shared with multiple audiences through many channels during a public health emergency.

RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role you will work on a wide range of tasks as part of a multidisciplinary team to carry out public health analysis, communication and marketing strategies, services and interventions. You will work with other CDC health communications, scientific, and management staff to plan and develop content, and assist in the productions of information material for use in print and electronic media.
CDC requires support analyzing social media and public communications for trends. Media communications is a desired skill.
Analysis of news and social media: Monitored social media and analyzed social media posts for sentiment; monitor news coverage for pick-up of stories or misinformation/misinterpretation by the news media?
Resource will be more interested in analytics than message creation.
Will support CDC with analysis of the media environment to see how CDC and other messages are being reported by news media and discussed on and within social media platforms. Analyze the media environment as an input for communication strategy.
Health communicators, health promotion specialists, public information officers, risk communicators; people with some previous gov't experience would be ideal. Communication managers, marketing analysts, or entry-to-mid level public relations professionals with experience focused on analytics and how the message is received and "plays" with various stakeholders/audiences.
