Looking for Security Specialists to support a CDC Client with their Authority to Operate process, security scans, vulnerability documentationetc. You may work FULLY REMOTE for this role, and it will be a 6-12 month contract with potential for hire at the end.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Creates, develops and modifies CDC Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A) documents to ensure that Center systems conform to OMB, NIST, HHS and CDC security policies, standard operating procedures (SOP) and guidelines.
  • Documents the corrective actions required to remediate weaknesses documented in the Center System Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms).
  • Documents the results of periodic Center system recertification's, self-assessments, Contingency Plan (CP) development.
  • Performs, documents, and remediates vulnerabilities identified during application scans of Center systems using tools such as WebInspect, Fortify, or ClareScan
  • Create and coordinate Change Request for system applications.
  • Prepare documentation on Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) products to be used at CDC.
  • Establish database vulnerability checks and coordinate digital signatures.


Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience and/or education.
  • 2 years of proficient experience with standard office PC software applications (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Access).
  • Experience as a security analyst
  • Strong skills in documentation using Microsoft Word or other Word Processing or editorial applications.
  • Strong problem solving skills along with outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines, manage schedule conflicts, and handle sensitive personal and technical information.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or Cyber Security Assurance.
  • Experience working in an IT Security environment.
  • Experience programming or using relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and Access.
