Job Summary
Researches, drafts, coordinates, and gains approval for the overall Global Security Program Strategy and domain level and derivative cyber and information security strategies. Responsible to develop or refine strategy documents and coordinate those with all stakeholders across all Aflac entities. Responsible in ensuring the practical aspects of strategy implementation. Provides overall direction, guidance, and definition of an enterprise security architecture that effectively ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Aflac information assets while supporting Corporate Business and IT strategies; researches, analyzes, designs, proposes, and prototypes solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies; drives security awareness and a data security mindset among architects and other constituents. Additional responsibilities may include establishing the overall security architecture strategy, identifying key interfaces and components impacting security posture, designing modular frameworks for application security controls to be used across the enterprise, ensuring security of e-business, and identifying security gaps in existing architecture and opportunities for improving security architectural posture; performs systems analysis and design, system modeling, performance modeling, integration planning, and technology and component selection to ensure architectural consistency and coherence between technical and business processes.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure architectural standards and concepts are developed to provide strategy implementation.
Ensures security is built into the enterprise architecture through integrating security concepts in the architectural road map.
Partners with information security engineering and solutions architectural teams to effectively rationalize the security solutions portfolio.
Works on multiple security architecture projects as a project leader, or works on multiple application projects as security subject matter expert; works on highly complex projects that require in-depth knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments
Participates in technical and business discussions relative to future enterprise direction; aligns architectural strategy with business goals and emerging threat landscape
Serves as security subject matter expert for architecture team; coaches architects and supporting IT personnel on integrating security into strategic and tactical decisions
Researches and evaluates software/hardware products and industry trends to assist in project development and operational support activities
Analyzes the current architecture to identify weaknesses and to develop opportunities for improvements such as enhancing authentication and reducing attack surface
Develops and communicates secure architectural policies and standards for the enterprise
Ensures that new initiatives and solutions support established security principles. Integrates security requirements into architectural requirements and framework strategy
Works with information security team to translate security policies and principles into tangible architectural improvements
Develops and presents "white papers" on current and future architecture trends and their impact on the security of the enterprise
Performs other related duties as required
Professional-Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security or related field, and seven or more years of experience in multiple IT areas and two years of relevant security architecture experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
