Primary Location: 6305 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd, Atlanta, GA, USA Division: Cox Communications Inc Job Level: Manager/Senior Manager Travel: No Schedule: Full-time Shift: Day Job Requisition Number: 213017 Cox Communications is looking for a Senior Manager of Cloud and Container Security who will report to the Senior Director of Security Architecture and Privacy. This individual will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise scale cloud and container security architecture solutions to support business initiatives. Specifically, this individual will lead a team of cloud and container security specialists in evaluating the security of cloud-based and container-based solutions, developing security standards, and implementing security controls and automations. Current initiatives include managing the cloud security framework, maturing container security controls, on-boarding cloud providers, and managing the cloud and container security monitoring tools. This individual will manage two direct reports along with project-based resources assisting with cloud and container security controls. Frequent interaction with other teams including development, infrastructure, and security leadership will be required and the expectation is that this individual will be able to operate independently to generate subtasks, delegate, and drive to completion. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong business acumen and possess a blend of general business, technology, and security competencies. Specifically, this individual will have a versatile background, critical thinking and analytical capabilities, as well as a proven ability to bridge organizational boundaries to implement security controls and mitigate risks. Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Manages the pipeline for cloud and container security architecture reviews according to current workload while managing development team expectations
Identifies and implements new opportunities and controls to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of cloud and container security detection and alerting
Establish functional strategic goals for improving cloud and container security solutions/controls and initiate and direct activity aligned with achieving the goals
Collaborates with Security and Technology leadership to align on strategic direction
Manages configuration and makes decisions on the use of cloud and container security monitoring tools including:
Native public cloud security tools
Cloud security posture management (CSPM) tools
Cloud workload protection platforms (CWPPs)
Workload scanning tools
Provides weekly metrics on cloud and container security initiatives
Develops cloud and container security standards and configurations to be implemented by project teams
Ensures compliance to security architecture standards and processes
Assists as requested with security issues that might drive architectural changes
Identifies, proposes, and influences product selection and delivery, negotiates security deliverables and requirements with product teams and vendors
Conducts research and development of new security tools and technologies to enhance and protect end customer experience
Provides communication on relevant external security trends or events to the Cox Technology organization or broader organization, as required
Lead cost-risk tradeoff discussions with the product teams, helping to decide how important and at what cost each security requirement/functionality can be justifiably added in the product
Mentor and invest in the development of team members
Work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams throughout the company as a subject matter expert in cloud and container security with solution and implementation focus
Work with Incident Response team to build in ability to rapidly detect, contain, investigate, eradicate, and recover from security incidents
Qualifications: Minimum:
8+ years of experience working in security architecture, operations, design, or development across multiple security domains
2+ years of experience working with enterprise-scale cloud implementations
Demonstrated understanding what it means to draw out business needs and deliver practical outcomes addressing those needs
Strong experience in designing and implementing security architectures in the enterprise
Successful experience shaping security architecture for enterprises as part of a cloud migration strategy
Strong knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM), especially as implemented in cloud environments
Working knowledge of encryption concepts and implementation methods
Knowledge of remote access technologies and implementation best practices
Preferred:
BS/BA in a related discipline (i.e., Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, etc.); and/or 8 years of experience in related field
At least one relevant certification - CISSP, CCSP, Cloud Specific Associate/Professional, CISM, CISA, etc.
Experience building enterprise security strategy for cloud adoption or driving the programs evolution to meet new requirements
Hands-on technical expertise in building security capabilities in code and deploying infrastructure in code
Technical experience working with enterprise security solutions such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAF, and SIEM
Scripting skills such as PowerShell, Python, Node.js, Javascript, Bash, Ruby, Perl, etc.
Experience with CloudFormation, Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible in production environments at scale
Knowledge of IP networking, VPNs, DNS, load balancing and firewall
Big four consulting background or Fortune 500 company experience
Telecom/Cable industry experience
