The project manager plays a critical role in launching some of the largest cutting-edge eMobility projects in the world. As a vital team member in the North American Headquarters, you will manage a variety of projects to ensure operational excellence through effective budgeting, accurate scheduling, and precise leadership.
You work closely with your colleagues (Sales/Project Engineers / Purchasing / Technical Support / Service Support) and with external parties (Installers / OEMs / energy companies, etc.) to launch and facilitate customer and internal projects.
Responsibilities
Operational Management
Plan and execute EV Infrastructure projects on-time and on-budget
Act as the key contact for the customer and an escalation point for project issues.
Build and fortify a process to deliver multiple customer projects in various stages of complexity.
Effectively communicate with world class development engineering teams and modern manufacturing plants.
Manage all aspects of the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) process.
Coordinate transition from order to operations
Control budgets and change management with clients and suppliers.
Check and prepare site management reports, designs, and drawings.
Execute customer acceptance and effective handoff into service.
Manage commercial agreements with customers and suppliers for successful project delivery
Hedge risk through problem solving and business sense.
Communicate timely, efficiently, and openly (giving instructions & keeping everyone well informed of the progress).
Safety and Procedures
Ensure safety of the installation, construction, and work environment at the site.
Maintain quality control procedures;
Facilitate safety inspections; ensure site meets regulations as applicable to authorities having jurisdiction
Reporting and Aftersale
Complete risk assessment prior to and ongoing for most projects.
Regular reporting on progressions, customer requests, installed equipment, product performance, and SHEQ.
Weekly reporting on KPI's including planning, budget, pricing and quality to the CPO (Charge Point Operator) and management team.
Negotiation management in contract and claims towards customers and suppliers.
Generate lessons learned and project close-out documentation
Qualifications and requirements:
3-5 years of experience as a Project Manager for large, complex projects, preferably in the energy and/or installation industry with a project scale of $500k to $5MM.
Bachelors' or masters' degree; prefer Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics
2+ years of experience with construction and civil engineering work is a bonus. EV, renewable energy, transit, utility experience a plus
knowledge of project financing and project management methodologies is a strong advantage (e.g., Prince2, Scrum, Agile, IPM, Lean, etc.). PMP Preferred
Understanding of GAAP for financial reporting
Strong English communication skills and presentation skills. Proficient in MS office and PM software
Demonstrated negotiation skills; knowledge of CRM/ERP systems
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
