Job Overview
The Retail Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Spicewalla's retail environment inside Ponce City Market. The Retail Manager will maintain store staff by recruiting, selecting, hiring, and training new team members. The Manager will successfully lead the store towards increasing sales, providing excellent customer service, and upholding a holistic and exciting brand image. Additionally, the Retail Manager will oversee stock and product within the retail space by monitoring backstock, ensuring freshness of product, and ordering product from the Spicewalla factory. This position requires constant attention to detail, ability to work ahead, multitask and anticipate future needs, ability to delegate and collaborate across a range of departments, and continuous presentation of product that is in line with brand identity.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
5 Shifts per Week; Approximately 40+ hours
Model best practices of work ethic, punctuality, honesty, dedication, generosity & communication
Be a resource of calm, professionalism, product knowledge, and timely communication
Model appropriate, professional, and friendly interpersonal communication and treatment of co-workers and team members
Promptly respond to all incoming phone calls at Spicewalla Retail
Model Mindblasting customer service in all interactions
Attend to, and maintain, the retail space within Spicewalla by upholding a safe, clean, and inviting store environment
In keeping with Spicewalla's standard operating procedures, maintain backstock, rotate inventory to ensure fresh product, monitor stock levels, and order product from the Spicewalla factory accounting for sales volumes and production timelines.
Receive incoming goods and maintain organized paperwork
Attend and participate in regular meeting with sales team
Liaise with Sales department regarding product needs for retail spaces
Direct reporting to the Sales Director & CPRG Executive Team as assigned
Potential reporting might include daily sales, inventory trends, team member labor and scheduling, etc.
Development and presentation of engaging retail opportunities - ie. product presentations - in store
Point person to work with Ponce City Market management to understand and capitalize on Market special events
Evaluation
Reviews and feedback from customers through online reviews, tenure of customer retail accounts, and growth of retail accounts
6 month performance review / check in with Director of Business Development
