Design, build, and deliver Business Intelligence solutions using Cognos Analytics and improve bottlenecks in the Business Intelligence reporting. Work with data warehousing, data modeling, data governance.
Design data repositories.
Analyze and write complex SQL code to build procedures and views. Create multi-dimensional data models by querying complex data structures using SQL. Define new Cognos requirements, including gathering requirements, documenting requirements, data mappings, unit testing and user acceptance testing.
Develop full project lifecycle with the Cognos Products using Cognos Framework Manager, Report Studio, Dashboard. Develop and optimize stored procedures, functions, SQL, PL/SQL, database structures, and ETL processes.
Create Active Reports using Cognos features like Charts, Visualizations, and Crosstabs. Develop and design code for reports with Query Subject from Stored Procedures, views which are published through Framework manager model as packages.
Develop and implement Cognos security models. Developing dimensional (DMR) and relational reports and configure and design dependencies and interrelationships between Cognos and other Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence tools and designs. Analyze logs and reports to create reports from the Database layer.
Work with Cognos BI (Framework Manager, Report Studio, Dashboard, Data Module), Power BI, Cognos TM1, DB2, Advanced Query Tool, Windows XP, Unix Shell Script, and UNIX. 40 hrs/wk. Must have a Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electr Engineering, or a related field and 1 year experience (or 1 year experience as Programmer Analyst, Data Analyst, BI Consultant, or related occupation).
Will accept a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of progressive post baccalaureate experience in lieu of a Master's. Must have 1 year experience working with data warehousing, data modeling, data governance; designing data repositories; and working with Cognos, Power BI, Cognos TM1, DB2, Oracle, Advanced Query Tool, Unix, Shell Script, SQL, PL/SQL.
Must be willing to travel/relocate to unanticipated locations throughout the US on short notice for extended periods of time.
