Senior Network Project Engineer

As the Senior Network Project Engineer, you must effectively and efficiently drive toward successful network project integrations and professional IT Services to the company’s valued client base. As a tier 3 and beyond subject matter expert for network solutions, you will provide technical oversight and ensure the project team produces the best possible outcomes for the clients through proper design and implementation. You must have deeply specialized knowledge and skills in order to help ensure the company's ability to solve even the most complex issues the clients face. Your networking expertise and guidance provided by this role are critical to winning client trust and building the long-term relationships the company seeks with all their clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a Tier 3 resource and escalation point for the rest of the project team on networking projects, as needed.
  • Provide mentorship and technical oversight to Project Technicians and support Project Engineers.
  • Provide project staging of equipment and software.
  • Provide network analysis, response, and remediation support, as needed.
  • Maintain network infrastructures across multiple clients and MSP/MSSP internal services. Create tasks that are designed to either add functionality required by the company or to address ongoing network failure issues.
  • Develop methods and tools to be used to test and implement to LAN/WAN equipment.
  • Build and develop Configurations for Network products.
  • Communicate effectively with both project management as well as client points of contact and end users.
  • Complete Project Implementation and Deployments. Complete project assignments as tasked (onsite or remote).
  • Provide project status updates to Regional Project Manager daily.
  • Complete client onboarding tasks that include ensuring clients' systems and networks meet the company’s standards.
  • Complete project discovery tasks to include site surveys and working with clients to understand their needs and then transition findings and client notes to Design Engineer for project scoping. Draft client recommendations to Design Engineer, Technical Account Manager, and/or Client Success Manager for review with client. Provide best practices and simple network designs.
  • Update project management software daily with progress of project tasks and other assignments.
  • Post-project quality assurance testing assistance.
  • Serve as client point-of-contact for end user training of new systems deployed.
  • Maintain service software documentation and standards.
  • Work with other technical groups and engineers as required.
  • Evaluate existing processes and engineer improvements.
  • Complete additional Integrations team tasks as assigned by Regional Project Manager.
  • Train team members on new technologies as required for Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 to take over support of clients post project.
  • Stay up to date with technology through ongoing education. Be open to investing time into new products from ANY vendor.
  • Participate in Service Strategy to assist the company in designing and supporting the best solutions for the clients.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in any IT related field OR equivalent technical certifications (Cisco CCNP, Fortinet NSE, etc.)
  • 4- 6 years of Network experience with implementation and support
  • 2+ years of Windows Server level technology experience (Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019) as well as the Windows Server Core services (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, HyperV).
  • 2+ years of Microsoft Cloud Solutions/Services experience with an emphasis on Office 365 Experience creating technical documentation
  • Experience with firewalls, routers, switches

Preferred:
  • Experience working with security compliance standards
  • Additional Technical Certifications

Abilities, Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experience with many of the following:
    • Windows 7, 10; Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019; Mac experience a plus Active Directory and Group Policy Management
    • MS Azure and Amazon Web Services
    • Microsoft Cloud Solutions such as Office 365, Exchange online, SharePoint, and OneDrive Virtualization platforms such as Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware
    • TCP/IP stack
    • Wired and wireless technologies. Cisco, Fortinet, HP, etc.
    • Dynamic routing protocols, SLA, route tracking, and network policies
    • NMS and SIEM
    • DHCP and DNS support in SMB and enterprise environments
    • Network authentication and encryption methods
    • VoIP technology and equipment
    • Varied Client / Server applications

Travel:
  • Regional travel required.
  • Occasional overnight travel should be expected.
  • Must have valid driver's license with clean driving history.

Work Hours:
  • Full-time position for five, eight-hour days (40 hours total) per week. A one-hour lunch break is provided.
  • Shift start times range from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Position may require some on call availability for special projects.
  • Projects may require shifted work hours to complete based on client requirements.
  • Projects may require after normal working hours work to be completed.
